Hi students of Monocacy Middle I have read a really good book called ENDER'S GAME.
It is about a boy born in a war; a war fighting alien spices called Buggers. He is one of
the few selected to go to fighting school. In there he meets some friends and some enemies.
In this school they have no teachers with them. So you can get away with almost any thing.
(I want you to read this book and add onto this!)
Theres this great book called "DRAGON RIDER" Its about this boy who meets the last dragon and the boy and the dragon try to save the rest of the dragons. With the help of some new friends they save the dragons.This book includes a lot of mythical creatures too. From Brownies to faeries but they all live in our human world just hidden away. This is a great book and also a great author other books by this author are Inkheart Inkspell and Inkdeath there all three from the same series. Inkheat also just came out as a new movie and is due to be released to DVD on January 23 2009.
Theres this book called "THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY" Its about 2 dogs and a cat who run away after they are left with the neighbors and try to find thier real owner. This guy was taking care of them for his friend but he had to go somewhere for work. He left them with the neighbors. They go through tons of obstacles and get in tons of trouble on their way to find their true owner. Thers a movie on this as well but I think its totally different than the book. P.S. The book is way better. I hated the movie but I love the book.
There is this book called "WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS". It is about a farm boy who goes and buys himself two coon hounds and then learns how to hunt with them. Throught the book there are some obsticles that they encounter and some danger that they must face- together. There is also a movie of this story. In my opinion the movie and the book are on the same level. The book starts boring but it gets very interesting.
"THE MAXIMUM RIDE SERIES" oh my gosh you have to read these books. They are about these 98% human 2% bid kids that are trying to escape from the evil scienctists. This is one thriller that you don't want to miss. They are really funny and have you on the edge of your seat. James Patterson is a really good writer. This is even better than the Twilight books. Of course this is my opinion but you might want to check it out because I mean what I say. And besides, I wouldn't be writing this if the series is really bad.
I guess the books in the Inkheart series fit into this category of Adventure. They are about a girl named Meggie who is possed with the gift of making whatever that she is reading aloud come to life. They have made the first book into a movie so it must be good, huh. Meggie and her father get abducted by the evil Capricorn who Meggie's father had read aloud from a book called Inkheart. Capricorn wants to use Meggie's father to read aloud from other books and to get whatever he wants. The books are by Cornelia Funke. And trust me, they are good.
